Deep Feeling/Primal Therapy is a powerful process of giving your life new awareness and
enriching the relationship with yourself and other people.
How Long Will It Take?
It depends on how aware you
are of your feelings, how deep seated your problems are, and your intention,
determination and commitment to this process. For some, the work they choose may
take a few sessions, for others a few years. Since we are going to deal with
deep causes of the problems, not just the “symptoms”, it is important to know
that is not a quick fix and not a “drive through” approach. Personally, we
believe there is no “magic happy pill”. What has been accumulated over a
lifetime cannot be changed in a few days. Our body needs time to release the
suppressed emotions, and to reintegrate the newly found insights. Most of the
people who are committed to the primal process
experience at some point a distinctive shift in their outlook on life and
feeling in life, where there is no looking back anymore. You might have to
continue occasional work on your feelings, but otherwise experience an increased
ability to fully enjoy life.
Are There Special
“Techniques” Used?
No. We try to adjust the whole process to suit
the client's needs instead of following any system or technique. The client is
always in control of their process. We have extended knowledge of different
techniques and healing methods. In some cases we might suggest some of them, if
we
believe them to be helpful. A client is always free to use them, or not. We are
there to provide a safe and welcoming space for free expression of your pain,
sorrow, rage and joy.
What Is Self-Primaling?
Some people try to do deep feeling work
alone. We would strongly recommend that this should not be the only way you work
on your feelings. You should be aware that you may be carrying on your childhood
process of seeming not to need (and actually not having) anyone else.
Experiencing loneliness and despair over and over again can be disintegrating
and re-injuring for some people. It’s important to have another human being
listening to you, since we seek to create and live a different, more healthy
situation than that early solitude. Most of the time we need honest and
accepting relationships for the healing process to happen.
On a practical level it’s important, too.
Being with someone can be crucial when the feelings themselves are frightening,
and talking to someone will give you a focus and make it harder to avoid
feelings.
